  Position Title: Packaging Engineer – New Projects

  Position Summary
  The Packaging Engineer is responsible for developing, validating, and implementing packaging solutions for new product launches, ensuring safe, cost-effective, and efficient material flow throughout the supply chain. This role works closely with Program Management, Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality, Suppliers, and Customers to support successful program launches and ongoing operational performance.

  Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement returnable and expendable packaging solutions for new vehicle/program launches.
  • Coordinate packaging activities throughout the APQP process and ensure readiness for production.
  • Design and validate packaging concepts that meet quality, logistics, cost, and ergonomic requirements.
  • Define packaging specifications, standards, and instructions for suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead packaging trials and validation activities to ensure part protection and transportation efficiency.
  • Coordinate packaging procurement, timing plans, and launch deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Material Flow, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, and Logistics teams to optimize material handling processes.
  • Support PFMEA, Control Plans, and launch readiness reviews.
  • Manage packaging-related changes and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor packaging costs and develop cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with customer-specific packaging requirements and internal standards.

  Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Packaging Engineering within automotive manufacturing.
  • Experience supporting new product launches and APQP processes.
  • Knowledge of returnable packaging systems, racks, dunnage, containers, and expendable packaging.
  • Experience with material flow and manufacturing operations.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and packaging management tools.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced English communication skills preferred.
