Strategic Leadership – Set direction for the maintenance, facilities and Manufacturing IT ( in line with NA Manufacturing IT and guidance ) organisation, aligning with production, safety, and company goals.
Team Leadership & Development – Lead, coach, and develop Area Managers, supervisors, planners, skilled trades, technicians, and other functional teams across all areas and shifts.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance – Develop and implement PM/PdM strategies to maximise equipment uptime, reliability, and asset life.
Planning & Scheduling – Ensure maintenance work is planned, prioritised, scheduled, and executed effectively with minimal production disruption, including backlog and resource management.
Performance Metrics & Analysis – Track KPIs (uptime, downtime, MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance, costs) and analyse failure data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Root Cause Analysis & Continuous Improvement – Lead RCA and corrective actions for recurring failures; drive TPM, reliability-centred maintenance, and process optimisation.
CMMS & Documentation – Oversee the CMMS (work orders, equipment records, maintenance history) and ensure procedures/documentation stay accurate and current.
Vendor, Contractor & Inventory Management – Manage relationships with maintenance, IT, and manufacturing technology vendors/contractors, and oversee spare parts and asset inventory, stocking, and procurement.
Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Collaboration – Partner with Production, Quality, Safety, Supply Chain, Engineering, and global IT teams to resolve equipment, operational, and technology issues, and to govern project delivery with minimal disruption to operations.
Budget & Capital Planning – Manage the maintenance and IT operating budgets, and contribute input to capital planning, equipment lifecycle, and technology investment decisions.
Safety Compliance & Culture – Ensure compliance with OH&S, electrical, and environmental requirements; promote safe work practices (e.g., LOTO, hazard assessments).
Workforce Planning & Communication – Manage staffing, scheduling, and shift coverage; maintain clear communication with plant leadership on performance and improvement initiatives.
IT Infrastructure & Manufacturing Technology Oversight – Provide direction over the site's IT infrastructure (servers, virtualisation, networking, storage) and manufacturing technology (production floor systems, equipment integration), ensuring alignment with corporate architecture and technology roadmaps.
IT Team Leadership & Organisational Development – Oversee leadership of the Systems Administrator team, ensuring effective workload management, coaching, and performance development, while building a scalable IT organisational structure to support business growth.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management –In collaboration with NA Manufacturing IT, align and lead cybersecurity compliance, vulnerability remediation, patch management, and identity/access management, ensuring the site's technology environment is secure and sustainable.
Bachelor's in Engineering or post-secondary education in a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with significant experience leading medium to large maintenance teams.
Minimum of 5 years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience, preferably within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Proven track record of improving equipment uptime, maintenance effectiveness, reliability, and operational performance.
Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices, equipment reliability, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
Demonstrated experience with maintenance planning, scheduling, work management, and CMMS systems.
Working knowledge of SAP and/or other computerised maintenance management systems.
Strong understanding of maintenance KPIs, including downtime, MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance, schedule compliance, backlog, and maintenance cost performance.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute departmental strategies, goals, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong people leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to lead, develop, coach, and motivate maintenance professionals and skilled trades.
Experience managing staffing, overtime, absentee coverage, performance management, and workforce development.
Strong understanding of Occupational Health & Safety requirements and safe maintenance practices, including applicable electrical and workplace safety standards.
Working knowledge of applicable Electrical Codes, Occupational Health & Safety standards, and local and provincial regulations.
Demonstrated ability to manage vendors, contractors, spare parts, and maintenance-related resources.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use maintenance and downtime data to identify trends and drive corrective action.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to urgent equipment and production issues.
Proficient with Google, Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project.
Excellent communication in English and Spanish and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organisation.
Demonstrated ability to build strong cross-functional relationships with Production, Quality, Safety, Supply Chain, and other departments.
