MACK TECHNOLOGIES MEXICO

Solicita: Electronics Materials Buyer

  • Descripción y Requisitos

    Company Overview

Mack Technologies is an electronics contract manufacturer serving customers in the medical, aerospace and industrial sectors. Our Ciudad Juárez facility supports high-mix, high-reliability manufacturing programs that demand disciplined supply chain execution, strong supplier relationships, and strict compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

    Position Summary

Mack Technologies Mexico is seeking an experienced Electronics Materials Buyer to manage the procurement of electronic components, raw materials, and production supplies in support of our contract manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on role requiring day-to-day execution of purchase orders, active supplier negotiation, and ownership of cost and delivery performance metrics. The ideal candidate has direct experience buying electronic components (semiconductors, passives, electromechanical parts, PCBs, etc.) in an EMS, OEM, or similar manufacturing environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Convert MRP/ERP-generated requirements into accurate, timely purchase orders for electronic components and materials, ensuring quantities, pricing, and delivery dates align with production schedules.
    • Manage the full PO lifecycle: issue, confirm, expedite, reschedule, and close purchase orders in the ERP system (e.g., Infor CSI SyteLine).
    • Negotiate pricing, lead times, minimum order quantities, and payment terms with distributors, franchised suppliers, and OEMs.
    • Monitor and actively manage Purchase Price Variance (PPV); investigate root causes of unfavorable variances and drive corrective actions with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
    • Track open order status and proactively resolve shortages, allocation issues, and lead-time extensions common in the electronic components market.
    • Source alternate or second-source suppliers for allocated, obsolete, or long-lead-time components, ensuring compliance with approved vendor lists (AVL) and customer-approved sources where required.
    • Support engineering change orders (ECOs/ECNs) by managing component transitions, disposition of excess/obsolete inventory, and updated sourcing.
    • Maintain supplier scorecards and participate in supplier performance reviews covering quality, delivery, and cost.
    • Collaborate with Planning, Quality, and Engineering to resolve component-related quality issues, counterfeit-avoidance requirements, and material certifications.
    • Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable customer flow-downs and regulatory requirements relevant to medical, and industrial programs( traceability, counterfeit parts avoidance per AS6081/AS5553 where applicable).
    • Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing agreements, and supplier documentation.
    • Identify and execute cost-reduction initiatives while maintaining supply continuity and quality standards.

    Required Qualifications

    • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a buyer/purchaser of electronic components or materials, ideally within an EMS, OEM, or electronics manufacturing environment.
    • Demonstrated experience placing, managing, and expediting purchase orders in an ERP/MRP system.
    • Proven track record negotiating pricing, terms, and lead times directly with suppliers and distributors.
    • Working knowledge of PPV analysis and cost variance reporting.
    • Familiarity with electronic component types (semiconductors, passives, connectors, electromechanical, PCB/PCBA materials) and common industry supply constraints (allocation, obsolescence, lead-time volatility).
    • Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP systems such as Infor CSI SyteLine, iQS, SAP, or similar.
    • Excellent negotiation, communication, and supplier relationship management skills.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, given cross-border operations with U.S.-based customers and management.
    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Familiarity with counterfeit parts avoidance standards (AS6081/AS5553) and export control awareness
    • APICS/CPSM or similar supply chain certification.
    • Experience with consignment/VMI programs and long-term supply agreements.

    Key Competencies

    • Results-driven with strong ownership of cost, delivery, and supplier performance metrics.
    • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and supply constraints.
    • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through on open PO management.
    • Effective cross-functional collaborator with Planning, Quality, Engineering, and Program Management.
