Position Summary
Sensience
is looking for a highly motivated Stamping Process Engineer to develop
processes for our cutting-edge Blanking and Stamping manufacturing
facility. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of
Stamping process, production methodologies, and process optimization.
You will be responsible for leading and executing process development
and launching new parts by collaborating with cross-functional teams by
ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and cost.
In
addition to developing manufacturing equipment and processes,
Manufacturing Engineers work with cross-functional teams throughout the
entire product lifecycle. You will work closely with Design Engineering,
Quality and Production to take new part designs into full production
with new equipment and update existing equipment designs to meet new
production needs.
Position Responsibilities
· Provide manufacturing engineering support to stamping and fabrication process.
·
Hands-on experience with metal stamping tooling and press operations,
including progressive dies, die tryout, press setup, tonnage
requirements, coil feed systems, die protection, troubleshooting, and
optimization of part design, strip layout, material utilization, scrap,
throughput, and manufacturability to support successful insourcing and
production ramp-up.
· Closely collaborate with external equipment integrators for stamping process.
· Manage external equipment integrators from equipment development through buyoff.
· Validate and characterize new equipment and fixtures for production implementation.
· Create detailed Manufacturing Instructions to document new processes.
· Design production workstations for ergonomics and efficiency.
·
Develop gap analysis and road maps for plant KPI’s including safety,
material, scrap, labor, and capex. Maintain shared responsibility to
meet all operational financial targets with the plant/division teams.
· Quality assurance responsibilities APQP methodologies.
Position Requirements
· BS/MS Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
· Experience with stamping process and multiple new equipment installations
· Experience with multiple new product startups
· 3-5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience stamping process
· Experience transitioning equipment or fixtures from prototype to production
· Experience designing mechanical equipment, fixturing and tooling in CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
· Strong mechanical fabrication and machine shop skills, operating a mill, lathe, welder a plus
· Controls experience including (Rockwell) PLC programming knowledge a plus
· Experience introducing new equipment and new processes into a production environment (APQP is a must)
· Extensive project management experience
