EMPRESA CONFIDENCIAL

Solicita: Senior Corporate Buyer

  • Descripción y Requisitos

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Commodity Index Management.  Own the integrity of copper and tin index pass-through across the supply base. Ensure supplier index formulas, benchmark source, and lag convention are aligned to the Company's customer-side agreements so that no index leakage occurs in either direction. Validate index adjustments each period and reconcile to system pricing.
    • Global Market Intelligence and Cost Mitigation.  Monitor US and Mexico tariff environments, USMCA and IMMEX/Annex 24 requirements, global trade regulation, and commodity markets. Analyze the effect of macroeconomic and policy shifts on landed cost and proactively develop mitigation strategies to protect margin.
    • Strategic Sourcing and RFQ Management.  Lead sourcing strategy and negotiation with domestic, Mexican, and international suppliers. Manage complex RFQ processes built on multi-level bills of material to secure competitive piece price, tooling, payment terms, lead time, and delivery performance.
    • Cross-Border Supply Chain Execution.  Structure sourcing decisions with full visibility to duty, tariff, freight, packaging, and cross-border logistics cost — not piece price alone. Coordinate with Customs and Trade Compliance to ensure correct classification, origin documentation, and bonded material treatment.
    • Cost Optimization and VA/VE.  Identify and execute cost-improvement opportunities through value analysis / value engineering, supply base consolidation, resourcing, low-cost-country sourcing within approved regions, and pre- and post-launch commercial negotiation.
    • Supplier Lifecycle Management.  Own the New Supplier Process from qualification through system setup. Track supplier financial and operational risk, drive corrective action plans, and manage supplier exit or resourcing where performance or risk warrants.
    • Program and Launch Support.  Support OEM program launches by securing capacity commitments, PPAP-ready timing, and firm commercial terms ahead of SOP; escalate supply risks to Program Management and Executive Management early and with a recommended course of action.
    • Inventory and Obsolescence Accountability.  Partner with Materials and Operations to manage lead times, minimum order quantities, and supplier-held stock; recover excess and obsolete exposure from suppliers where contractually supported and prevent recurrence at the sourcing stage.
    • Financial Accountability.  Establish, track, and achieve annual cost-savings targets. Present performance metrics, savings pipeline, and material cost risk directly to Executive Management on the Company's standard reporting cadence.
    • Cross-Functional Leadership.  Partner with Engineering and Quality to execute Engineering Change Requests and resolve supply disruptions. Lead cross-functional resolution rather than routing issues between departments.
    • Systems Ownership and Continuous Improvement.  Serve as a subject matter expert for PLEX ERP as the system of record for pricing, purchase orders, and supplier master data. Maintain data accuracy and drive workflow improvement.
    • Mentorship.  Coach and develop buyers and purchasing analysts in the US and Mexico; raise the analytical and negotiation capability of the purchasing team.
    ?Experience, Education and Licensure

    • Education.  Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline required.
    • Experience.  Five to eight years of progressive procurement experience in automotive manufacturing, including direct material sourcing and supplier negotiation.
    • Language.  Professional working proficiency in English and/or Spanish is required in order to manage stakeholders and suppliers across the US and Mexico. Mandarin is an advantage for Asia-based supply base management.
    • Industry knowledge.  Background in automotive wire harness, battery cable, or Tier 1 electrical and electronics manufacturing strongly preferred; familiarity with OEM customer requirements and program milestones expected.
    • Commodity expertise.  Demonstrated experience managing commodity-indexed pricing formulas (LME or COMEX copper and tin) and navigating cross-border trade between the US and Mexico, including USMCA rules of origin and IMMEX/maquiladora operations.
    • Technical skills.  Advanced proficiency in MRP/ERP planning systems; hands-on working knowledge of PLEX ERP strongly preferred. Advanced Excel required; ability to build and defend a cost model expected.
    • Certifications.  APICS (CPIM or CSCP) or ISM (CPSM) certification is a significant advantage.
    • Mobility.  Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% for supplier audits, business reviews, and site support. Valid passport and ability to travel between the US and Mexico required.
    Company Expectations of Employee
    • Excels in problem solving, analysis, and leadership without direct authority.
    • Adheres to Company policies and procedures and to all applicable US and Mexican legal and trade-compliance requirements.
    • Acts as a role model for the Company's standards of ethics and integrity, both internally and with the supply base.
    • Performs duties as workload necessitates and maintains a positive, respectful, and collaborative attitude across cultures and locations.
    • Communicates regularly and transparently with management regarding departmental issues, supply risks, and cost exposure.
    • Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and the ability to prioritize competing workloads across two countries and multiple sites.
    • Consistently reports to work on time and prepared to perform the duties of the position.
    • Meets or exceeds department productivity and accuracy standards.
