Summary
The Quality Manager (QM) must have experience in the
electronics industry, specifically SMT and Box Build for a PCB
manufacturing site supporting commercial products. Contract
manufacturing experience is also a very desirable qualification. In
this role, the Quality Manager is responsible for the performance of the
quality system to include ISO 9001 and regulatory requirements.
Manages, plans, coordinates and directs quality assurance programs
designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with
established standards for Mack Technologies. The position reports to the
Senior Director of Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•
Ensures that the Quality System is established, implemented and
maintained in accordance with ISO 9001, regulatory requirements and
operate as the management representative for all internal/external
audits.
• Performs audits and makes process adjustments to support Quality, ISO guidelines and regulatory requirements.
•
Formulate and monitor quality control objectives, defect reduction,
respond to customer returns and coordinate objectives with production
procedures in cooperation with other managers to maximize product
reliability and minimize costs.
• Implements and drives Root Cause Analysis for the entire site.
• Manages the corrective action system to ensure timely resolution and appropriate closure to CARs.
• Plans, promotes and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability (SPC, DOE, New Hires, etc.).
• Establish and guide supplier quality initiatives.
• Regularly interfaces with customers to ensure quality objectives are being met.
• Reports on the performance of the Quality System to site level Senior Management.
• Supports Program Management and Sales in the acquisition and initiation of new customers
• Creates and effectively manages the departmental budget.
• Lead/manage document control functions.
• Oversees ESD and calibration activities.
• Leads the on-site Continuous Improvement effort through the effective use of Lean and Six Sigma and Quality Teams.
• Support the company wide Continuous Improvement Program.
• Support corporate initiatives on new Quality System certifications and Best Practices across all MACK Technology.
• Active participant on the MACK Site Management Team.
• Performs other responsibilities as directed by the Senior Director of Operations of Mack Technologies Mexico
Qualifications
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish with solid skills in speaking, writing and communicating.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or a
relative technical field, Master’s degree preferred; 10+ years minimum
background with ISO 9000 quality system implementation and maintenance;
7+ years minimum experience in both box build and SMT operations in a
contract manufacturing environment (EMS); 7 years minimum experience in
managing a support staff, including budgeting, using computer
information systems and computing environments and 5 years with ISO
13485 preferred.
• Implementation of a Built-In Quality culture
and systems whereby using Lean Tools (5S, One Piece Flow, Andon,
Standard Work, etc.) quality is produced versus inspected.
• Knowledge skills and abilities related to quality management and implementation of improvements in the following areas:
o PCB assembly (PCBA), flex, and rigid flex assembly
o SMT, through-hole, and mixed technology
o Wave solder and selective wave solder
o Full system assembly, test, and validation
o System Configure to Order (CTO)
o Automated conformal coating; Automated potting
o Inspection and Test Capabilities
o In-line automated 3D Solder Paste Inspection (SPI)
o 3D Automated Optical Inspection (AOI)
o 2D X-Ray
o Flying probe
o In Circuit Testing (ICT)
o Environment Stress Screening
o Functional test
o JTAG / Boundary Scan
• CQM, CQE and/or ISO lead auditor certification preferred.
• Strong RCA and 8D background with ability to drive and implement required change(s).
• Six sigma green or black belt desirable.
• Excellent business tools/ applications knowledge (i.e. Email, Excel, MS Word etc.).
• Excellent computer skills, problem solving and workstation skills.
• Must have a strong background in supporting a high volume, system or printed circuit board assembly manufacturing operation.
• Experience with internal audits and leading third party registration audits (IL / CSA / TUV, etc.)
• Experience guiding customer visits.
• Strong organizational, time management, creative thinking verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Face-to-face customer interface experience.
• Ability to motivate employees and build a strong team atmosphere.
• Hands-on team player, able to communicate effectively with other groups.
• Ability to lead in a multi-tasking, highly dynamic work environment.
• Ability to prioritize workload to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.
