  Position Purpose

  • Develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Drive department efficiency to meet company KPIs.
    
    

  Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Troubleshooting all types of mechanical, electrical, PLC, and pneumatic equipment problems (Hands On),
  • Diagnostic Molding presses failures by identifying root cause on schematics and diagrams;
  • Toshiba, Arburg & Van Dorn
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Owner of OEE on all molding and peripheric equipment.
  • Proper Spare parts Inventory in tool crib min/max.
  • PM & PDM System implementation and administration.
  • Manufacturing specifications for refurbish, upgrades or new equipment acquisition.
  • Direct technical crew supervision.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Prepare Capital Expenditure Requests for equipment
  • Create well-written product documentation and application notes to communicate key information to production and Tool Room teammates effectively.
  • Play a key role in knowledge transfer by developing internal standards.
  • Work with Design Engineering and Product Development teams to analyze product prototypes to ensure the product can be manufactured.
  • Assist with cross functional Engineering duties as assigned.
  • Analyze and recommend solutions to ensure the safety of all people and processes.

  Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Manufacturing methods and procedures
  • CAD, CAD/CAM Circuit Design
  • PLC Programming
  • Six Sigma preferred
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytic and mechanical skills
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing methods, processes, flows, layouts and production equipment.
