| (8) Position Overview: - Our CAD/CAM Engineers are responsible for planning, programming, and optimizing machining processes for injection mold components and customer parts.
- This role requires strong alignment with standard injection mold manufacturing practices, efficient machining strategies.
- Close collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure quality, productivity, and on-time delivery.
- The ideal candidate understands the importance of efficient material removal strategies, beginning with roughing operations using appropriate large-diameter cutters, followed by semi-finishing and finishing operations, rather than relying excessively on EDM or WEDM processes.
- This position requires a practical, production-oriented mindset aligned with our manufacturing culture and operational timelines.
(9) Position Overview: - Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, instructions, manuals, and technical specifications.
- Understand injection mold design, mold construction, and surface finish requirements.
- Apply GD&T principles correctly throughout the programming and machining process.
- Use CAD software to create accurate part models and machining geometry.
- Use CAM software to program multi-axis CNC machines (3, 4, and 5 axes).
- Plan machining strategies that follow standard mold manufacturing practices, including:
- Roughing operations with appropriate cutter sizes for efficient material removal.
- Progressive tool size reduction for semi-finishing and finishing.
- Proper selection of machining processes to minimize excessive reliance on EDM/WEDM.
- Verify NC files using simulation and verification software prior to manufacturing release.
- Select optimal cutting tools and machining parameters based on material, setup, and machine capability.
- Design and implement proper part clamping and fixturing strategies.
- Plan and execute manufacturing processes independently or in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cycle time reduction, efficiency, and quality.
- Communicate proactively with engineers and managers regarding any risks impacting part quality, manufacturability, or production schedules.
- Review and ensure quality control of CNC programs, tool lists, setup documentation, and machining plans.
- Support mold repair, modification, and insert manufacturing as required.
