The Production Superintendent is a key leadership role responsible for directing and optimizing all day-to-day manufacturing operations within a high-volume, precision environment focused on Automotive Motor and Electronic Control components. This role ensures the facility meets strict standards for safety, quality (IATF), efficiency (OEE/Cycle Time), and cost, while actively driving a culture of continuous improvement.
1. Safety and Quality Assurance
Ensure absolute compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and maintain a zero-incident culture.
Uphold and enforce stringent quality standards (IATF 16949/ISO) essential for the automotive sector.
Monitor production processes and manage the immediate resolution of quality deviations to minimize scrap and ensure high First Pass Yield (FPY).
2. Operational Management and Efficiency
Translate the master production schedule into daily actionable goals, ensuring execution meets required deadlines and volume targets.
Rigorously track, analyze, and report on key operational metrics, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Cycle Time, Downtime, and Schedule Attainment.
Lead efforts to identify and eliminate process bottlenecks, focusing on optimizing line balance and reducing manufacturing lead time.
Manage floor resources (labor, equipment, and materials) efficiently to maximize output while controlling labor costs.
3. Continuous Improvement (CI) Leadership
Champion and implement Lean Manufacturing methodologies (e.g., 5S, Standardized Work, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen) across the assigned production area.
Utilize structured problem-solving techniques (e.g., Root Cause Analysis, 8D, PDCA) to address chronic performance and quality issues.
Foster an environment where team members are actively engaged in identifying and implementing process improvements.
4. Team Development and Management
Provide strong, hands-on leadership, mentorship, and coaching to Supervisors, Team Leaders, and production associates.
Manage performance, conduct regular appraisals, and coordinate necessary training to ensure the team possesses the required skills for specialized production processes.
Maintain positive employee relations and enforce company policies consistently.
