Nidec AMEC, a leading global manufacturer, is searching for a highly skilled and results-driven Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Cd. Juárez, Chihuahua, México.
This key role directs and coordinates technician activities, focused on maintaining all automated processes and equipment systems to ensure operational safety, quality standards, and corporate objectives are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personnel Supervision & Development: Directly supervise maintenance technicians. Coordinate their activities, manage spare parts/documentation, and develop cross-training plans to achieve high versatility.
- Maintenance Strategy (TPM): Implement, update, and ensure 100% accomplishment of Preventive Maintenance and Auto-Maintenance Plans. Lead TPM workshops and participate in continuous improvement activities (SMED).
- Performance Metrics: Drive operational improvements to meet maintenance KPIs, specifically aiming to reduce MTTR (Mean Time To Repair) and increase MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures).
- Failure Analysis: Lead problem-solving teams using advanced methodologies (PDCA, 5 Whys?, Fishbone, Pareto Analysis) to quickly analyze failures and implement corrective actions.
- Compliance: Ensure full adherence to IATF 16949 Quality System and ISO 14001 Environmental standards, including chemical handling and waste disposal procedures.
- Safety Authority: Guarantee that all equipment safety devices are operational and that personnel respect and follow all safety rules (with authority to stop production if safety or quality risks are present).
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.
- Experience: 3–5 years of progressive experience in a similar maintenance role.
- Advanced Technical Expertise (Minimum 5 years combined experience in these technologies):
- Heat treatment
- Spot Resistance welding
- Injection Molding
- Aluminum Casting
- PLC Skills: Advanced level proficiency in PLC troubleshooting and programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Keyence).
- Language: Advanced English proficiency (90% or higher) is mandatory.
- Core Competencies: Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, ability to read schematics/drawings, team leadership, excellent communication, and a proactive, rigorous approach to work.
