                    MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING MANAGER II

    Manufacturing Production Process Engineering focuses on designing, developing, and implementing new or revised production processes for the efficient/economical mass production of goods including: •Designing arrangement of manufacturing equipment to ensure most efficient and productive layout •Designing the sequence of production operations, specifying procedures for the fabrication of applicable tools and equipment, and adapting machinery in response to factory conditions

    •Conducting tests throughout all stages of production to determine control over applicable variables and troubleshooting/solving production problems

    • Providing guidance to product design engineering on technical specifications that will best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques

    •Ensuring that production processes and procedures are following regulations.

    Supervises and is responsible for all phases of manufacturing improvement projects, ensuring the successful conclusion of all phases within an appropriate time and at appropriate cost. Implements process improvements to meet quality standards, performs feasibility studies and solves problems. Incumbents in this job family are typically responsible for directing and guiding the work of teams and/or individuals. Typically, incumbents would be responsible for performance reviews, pay reviews, and may have hire/fire decision making authority. In limited instances, incumbents in this management job level category may also be responsible for a functional area and not have people reporting to them. There are different levels available that provide clarity on contribution expectations based on knowledge, application, problem solving, impact, collaboration, and supervision.

    • Manages activities of a section within a department, sometimes through subordinate supervisors; typically also manages a team of Professional-level associates
    • Plant Leader with responsibility for a workforce <200 associates
    • Provides measurable input into the development of new products, processes, standards, or business plans that will have direct impact on overall department results
    • Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing processes, projects, and tactics within a discipline
    • Communicates regularly with subordinate supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group managers
    • Interaction normally involves matters between functional areas

    • Interaction normally involves matters between sister facilities and upper engineering management

    Process, Manufacturing, Industrial & Maintenance engineer’s management

    •  Participate in P & L monthly report and action plans
    •  Capex & Project Expense plant administration
    •  Plant Lay Out management
    •  New Business introduction and business unit transferences
    •  Process & headcount efficiency
    •  Process & Methods standardization CP, PFMEA, QPS, VA.
    •  Machines & Tooling acquisition, validation and liberation
    •  Stablish strategy and plan for scrap reduction
    •  Develop plan for OEE improvement
    •  Plant and equipment maintenance administration
    •  TPM development and implementation to improve MTTR, MTBF and availability
    •  Spare Parts and perishable tooling management to reduce downtime
    •  Develop and update contingency and reaction plan for critical equipment defined
    •  Participate in EHS and environmental certifications for processes
    •  Develop and update Safety methods for lock out- Tag Out machinery
    •  Continuous Improvement department management for 5S, Cost Efficiency, visual    management
    •  Develop Strategic Planning for the department.
    •  Root Cause Analysis for Scrap, OEE, Quality Issues using A3 tool
    •  Cost Deployment for main expenses plant to reduce Overhead cost

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • BA or BS degree is required, preferably in Engineering or Operations Management
    • Demonstrated experience with development of strategic on metal mechanical manufacturing company Minimum of 10 years
    • Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering and maintenance management roles
    • Strong knowledge of aluminum casting and injection equipment, tooling, and process controls
    • Demonstrated ability to drive productivity and compliance throughout a complex organization through influence.
    • Demonstrated ability to support multifaced business requirements established by each Segment. 
    • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, conceptually, and analytically to assess problems, identify and consider potential solutions, and make timely recommendations
    • 80/20 Experience and Business and Operational Segmentation is preferred
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate, interact, and influence at all levels of the organization to drive results in a fast-paced operation.
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to provide accurate and understandable data and reports to analyze performance to make data-driven decisions.
    • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills. 
    • Bilingual 90%
    • Availability to travel occasionally
    • High level of personal initiative, energy and ownership of business results.
    • Strong  Computer skills: Microsoft Office applications required. Knowledge of Oracle a plus.
