Position
Overview:
The
Facilities engineer works in conjunction with team members, management and
external contractors to plan and execute strategies for their particular area.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Contractor management,
Facility Equipment uptime and performance, capacity planning, best practices
development and training plans, as well as a commitment to continuously improve
the quality and efficiency standards of the Facilities team. The role is highly
dynamic and combines both tactical and strategic activities which must often be
conducted simultaneously. The Process Supervisor is a critical component in the
Company’s Value Stream. The quality of the Process Supervisor’s performance has
a direct impact on the overall profitability of the organization and is considered
a high visibility role.
Mission of the Position:
This
position works in conjunction with team members, Operations Managers,
Engineering teams and vendors. This position is responsible for capacity
planning and training and development while continuously looking for room for
improvement to ensure a safe working environment and uptime on facility
equipment to ensure quality and efficiency standards can be met by our
production and engineering teams.
Desired outcomes/Principal
Duties:
? Manage the team, including personnel
responsibility such as recruitment, training, coaching, review and disciplinary
processes.
? Manage on site contractors to ensure they are working safely, are on
time and their work is coordinated and planned in accordance to the needs of
Production and Engineering teams.
? Motivate the team and ensure that the company’s core values are
reflected in the attitudes and behaviors of the staff at all times.
? Ensures that team daily huddles are consistent and that Production
Team Members and Team Leads are well informed on provided business and team
communication.
? Clearly assigns responsibility for tasks and decisions, sets
objectives and measures, monitors process, progress, and results, documents all
procedures and trains staff to the latter.
? Ensures that the team has tools needed to execute project tasks
assigned by the project team for new products or systems.
? Uses advanced problem solving skills, critical thinking, and
decision making required to manage the process team successfully and anticipate
issues and problems before they impact quality or production.
? Plans and coordinates projects with the needs of the production and
Engineering teams. Directs his/her
actions and the actions of others toward achieving goals that are critical to
the success of the production team.
? Responsible for tracking and communicating metrics on a daily,
weekly, and monthly basis and responding to results accordingly.
? Responsible for communicating to Process Managers and Operations
Manager any deviations from expected goal or efficiencies.
? Work with other departments to ensure the highest level of support
to our customers is achieved at all times.
? Works with Process Managers and Operations Managers to allocate team
to contribute to resources planning activities and make recommendations
regarding staffing levels and equipment purchases relative to product flow and
growth management.
? Meet with the production and engineering managers regularly to
review the quality of service provided both upstream and downstream; and make
necessary adjustments when required.
? Plan the arrangement of goods and machinery within the Area, with
careful attention paid to workflow and efficiency gains.
? Own the responsibility of all Maintenance activities with respect to
TPM’S and stocking key spare parts for all facility related equipment including
count activities and accuracy of reporting
? Demonstrates superior technical expertise of the assigned process
and equipment.
? Knowledge of PO approval process, and SLA with contractors and
driving accountability to these agreements
? Executes project tasks within Process and ensures successful
implementation.
? Ensures all equipment, machines, and software are maintained
according to the TPM schedules and works with the supporting internal
departments to ensure compliance.

Oversee the
health and safety efforts of the Area, including posting signage, reviewing
best practices, and coaching all Production Team Members to maintain compliance
and a safe work environment.
?
Position may require
occasional travel, including internationally, to other BuildAsign/Cimpress
manufacturing facilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
? Engineering degree with technical training on Facilities.
? 2+ years manufacturing experience.
? Experience in managing vendors.
? In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles preferred.
? Supervisory experience preferred.
? Bilingual.
