  GENERAL SUMMARY:

  Under the direction of the Materials Manager/Planning/Purchasing Leader, the Senior Buyer reviews material requirements for actual and forecasted sales, and plans and purchases the highest quality materials, part/components, etc. at the most cost-effective pricing while meeting delivery requirements. Analyze material requirements to determine when materials will be needed, in accordance with established company policies and procedures. Requires strong customer service orientation and relationship building skills including cooperation, collaboration, and trust to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.  Use your analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root cause and recommend solutions. Provide supervision/leadership to the junior buyer(s).

  MAIN  DUTIES  AND RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Process purchase orders and/or blanket orders to obtain materials that meet production requirements
  • Monitor/Analyze/Execute ERP action messages
  • Monitor incoming supply chain
  • Update PO status in ERP system
  • Issue discreet purchase orders
  • Provide PO status updates to planning & operations teams
  • Define/Analyze/Maintain ERP planning parameters
  • Manage supplier relationships
  • Analyze supply chain performance and define/implement improvements
  • Analyze supply chain costs and define/implement improvements
  • Support MRO/non-inventory purchasing
  • Reconcile PO receipt/invoice issues
  • Manage and update purchasing metrics
  • Process material returns
  • All other duties as defined by management
  • High level solving problems

  EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Four-year Bachelor Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management
  • 1 to 3 years of purchasing or supply chain management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 1 to 3 years of experience with ERP systems
  • Demonstrated supply chain knowledge (CPIM, ASCP, CPM)
  • Understanding of basic business principles and practices
