Job Title: Warehouse Manager
The Warehouse Manager oversees all warehouse operations, ensuring accurate receiving, storage, and distribution of materials to support company production and business goals. This role is responsible for maintaining efficient workflows, enforcing safety standards, optimizing inventory management, and leading a team of warehouse staff. The Warehouse Manager acts as the key liaison between Purchasing, Logistics, and Production teams, ensuring smooth communication and timely resolution of issues related to material quality, vendor discrepancies, and shipment coordination.
A successful Warehouse Manager is both strategic and hands-on, capable of driving continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining daily operational excellence. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and analytical skills to ensure the warehouse supports company profitability and growth.
Leadership & Supervision
Direct, train, and develop warehouse staff; establish performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback.
Schedule and assign workloads to maximize efficiency and meet throughput goals.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Operations Management
Oversee receiving, inspection, and storage of inbound materials; ensure accuracy against purchase orders and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain and improve inventory control processes, including cycle counts, physical audits, and database accuracy.
Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all warehouse equipment and facilities.
Develop and enforce warehouse safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company guidelines.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Purchasing Teams to address material quality issues, vendor returns, and order discrepancies.
Work with Logistics to oversee domestic and international shipments, freight coordination, and special handling requirements.
Support Production teams by ensuring timely and accurate material availability.
Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement
Analyze warehouse performance metrics and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Recommend and implement innovative ideas to optimize workflow, inventory accuracy, and space utilization.
Participate in budgeting, staffing planning, and operational forecasting.
Accurate and timely receipt and storage of all inbound materials.
High levels of inventory accuracy through effective controls and audits.
Efficient warehouse operations that support production schedules and customer demand.
Safe and compliant workplace environment.
A trained, motivated, and high-performing warehouse team.
Continuous improvement initiatives that increase productivity and reduce waste.
5+ years of warehouse or supply chain experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/management role.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to manage inventory systems, equipment maintenance, and data analysis.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software.
Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
Ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and manage multiple competing demands.
Dependability, reliability, and strong attendance record.
Ability to stand for extended periods (8–12 hours).
Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or move up to 50 lbs. continuously.
Ability to bend, stoop, and reach repetitively.
Ability to work in a warehouse/production environment with variable noise levels, pace, and conditions.
