    Position Summary:
    The Facilities Engineer is responsible for ensuring an optimal, safe, and efficient working environment across the entire facility. This role involves the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and inspection of all facility-related mechanical, HVAC, central chiller, fire alarm/sprinkler, and compressed air systems. You'll be responsible for scheduling preventative maintenance and repairs with both in-house teams and third-party vendors to maximize equipment uptime. This position also manages various building and grounds-related facility projects, including new equipment installations, facility improvements, and the effective account management of various third-party facilities vendors (e.g., janitorial, coffee program, vending, water coolers, groundskeeping).

    Essential Functions:

    • Apply comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing facilities to ensure the cost-effective delivery of compressed air, natural gas, fire, and environmental control systems (HVAC, boilers, chillers, plant relative humidity, etc.).
    • Manage various building and grounds-related facility projects, including plant improvements, facility-related design upgrades, and recommendations for corrective actions.
    • Oversee new facility equipment installations and improvement projects, encompassing planning, design, preparation of specifications and tender packages, engagement with procurement for contractor selection and coordination, construction management, start-up, and commissioning for capital improvement projects.
    • Proactively coordinate with Maintenance, Operations, and other support departments to prepare for work in an area.
    • Manage the professional documentation and drawings for all plant systems (compressed air, natural gas, fire and security, environmental control systems, etc.).
    • Implement and manage an effective predictive/preventative facilities equipment maintenance program, work order procedures, and adequate spare parts inventory.
    • Develop the facilities' 1-year expense budget and 5 year capital expenditure forecast.
    • Collaborate closely with third-party vendors (janitorial, coffee, vending, water cooler, groundskeeping) to ensure services meet Vista's expectations through periodic audits and ongoing management.
    • Lead the Facilities-Help Team Member email escalation program, responding to emails, entering tasks into the CMMS, and following up on closed tasks.
    • Maintain 5S standards for various facility break rooms and cafeterias.
    • Manage facilities office furniture, including ordering new or replacement furniture as required.
    • Provide after-hours support for facility-related emergencies as required.
    Experience, and Skills Required:

    • A minimum of 3 years of Facilities Engineer related experience.
    • Prior experience in Facilities Management and familiarity with the local building, fire, electrical, and safety codes is required. A completed course in facilities management would be an asset.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills are essential for success in a high-paced, world-class manufacturing environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, work independently, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
    • Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and consistently respect deadlines.
    • Ability to interact effectively with all levels and positions within the plant organization, including preparing executive presentations to gain approval for capital asset investment requests.
    • Proficiency with Google apps (Sheets, Slides, Document, Project) and AutoCAD is necessary. Adaptability to learn Enterprise Resource Planning software such as SAP is also required.
    • The successful candidate will be self-motivated with a high-energy level and a passion for excellence in people and processes.
