  Job Summary  
  
  This role will support the plant in month end close activities and advanced and details analysis and reporting surrounding inventory, labor and plant spend. In this role the Cost Accountant will partner with operational, engineering and finance personnel to find and implement cost reduction opportunities and provide business leadership with cost analysis in support of business decisions. 
  The role is vital in ensuring that our cost structure remains competitive while supporting profitability and growth. The ideal candidate will have experience in cost accounting, budgeting and process optimization in a manufacturing environment.
  
  

  Responsibilities/Duties

  • Review and update cost system including the updating of rates and throughputs
  • Collect ana analyze operational cost data, including material, labor and overhead variances and plant cost and spending trends
  • Detail tracking and analysis of both cycle counting and routine physical inventory count process, reconciliation of the results and reporting to plant
  • Prepare Margin analysis and variance reports and provide insight to Plant Teams regarding product line, customer profitability, volume and mix impacts
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts for products costs and inventory and provide variance analysis
  • Assist with product pricing process
  • Maintain KPIs to track progress to established operating targets
  • Assist with Sales Forecast and SIOP Planning
  • Perform Account Reconciliations

  
  Preferred Experience and Competencies

  • Bachelor's Degree from Accreditation University
  • +5 years’ experience Professional Cost Accounting
  • Solid understanding of Internal Controls, cost and accrual accounting, profit and loss statement analysis, and overall accounting principles
  • Proven ability to use Excel on daily basis including manipulation of amounts of data and creation of simple formulas
  • Strong experience to details
  • Desire and ability to fully research issues and solve problems.
  • Ability to work well with others in fast pace, dynamic environment
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and Team Oriented while building strong relationships and a positive work environment.
