    Industrial Engineering Manager (SMT)

    Managing the SMT and DIP production lines, implementing industrial engineering methodologies, and ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness in the assembly processes. The candidate will lead a team of engineers and technicians, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Process Optimization and Efficiency:

    1. Analyze and improve SMT and DIP production processes to reduce cycle times, improve throughput, and enhance productivity.
    2. Develop and implement time studies, process flow analysis, and balance lines to maximize efficiency.
    3. Evaluate and refine layouts, material flow, and workstations to meet production targets.
    4. Identify bottlenecks and provide actionable solutions to enhance production capacity.

    Cost Reduction Initiatives:

    1. Monitor material usage, labor efficiency, and equipment performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
    2. Evaluate alternative methods, tools, or technologies to reduce operating costs.
    3. Implement lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma to drive continuous improvement.

    Quality Assurance:

    1. Work closely with the quality team to ensure SMT and DIP assemblies meet customer and industry standards.
    2. Investigate and resolve process-related quality issues such as soldering defects, misalignment, or assembly errors.
    3. Support root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for process improvements.

    New Product Introduction (NPI):

    1. Collaborate with R&D, product development, and design teams to ensure smooth introduction of new products on SMT and DIP lines.
    2. Review and provide feedback on design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
    3. Validate process parameters, fixtures, and tools required for NPIs.

    Team Management and Development:

    1. Supervise and mentor a team of industrial engineers and technicians.
    2. Provide training to the team on new technologies, standards, and methodologies.
    3. Conduct regular performance evaluations and foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

    Equipment and Technology Management:

    1. Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and upgrades of SMT and DIP equipment.
    2. Assess and justify investments in new machinery or automation technologies to improve production efficiency.
    3. Manage relationships with equipment suppliers for procurement and ongoing support.

    Data Analysis and Reporting:

    1. Collect, analyze, and present metrics related to machine utilization, yield rates, scrap rates, and other performance indicators.
    2. Generate and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and operational records.
    3. Forecast capacity requirements and provide input on production planning.

    Safety and Compliance:

    1. Ensure that all production processes adhere to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
    2. Implement and enforce policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for the team.

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. MBA or advanced certifications in engineering/management is a plus.

    Experience:

    1. Minimum of 10 years of experience in PCBA manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
    2. Proven expertise in SMT and DIP processes and equipment, including reflow soldering, wave soldering, and selective soldering.
    3. Strong experience in implementing lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

    Technical Skills:

    1. Proficiency in manufacturing software/tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MES (Manufacturing Execution System), and ERP systems.
    2. Understanding of IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001).
    3. Familiarity with statistical tools and data analysis software (e.g., Minitab).
