  Job Objective

  The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire production process, ensuring that products are produced efficiently, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards by planning production schedules, allocating resources, monitoring productivity, maintaining quality control, and addressing any issues that arise throughout the manufacturing process. Meet the production target by optimizing costs, setting and achieving production targets efficiently at set quality levels. Lead and supervise production workers and supervisors, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and company policies. Ensure compliance with customer satisfaction.

  Competency requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
  • Experience: 5 years’ experience in similar position in the plastic injection molding industry.
  • English (Bilingual).
  • Microsoft Office management.
  • Skills: Molding knowledge of preference Analytical capabilities to identify and fix production issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Understanding manufacturing processes and lean methodologies.
  • Proficiency in production planning and scheduling.
  • Knowledge of quality control methods and standards.

  Position-Specific Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities with all the different support areas such as warehouse optimizing deliveries of materials and components, tool room with the delivery of molds requested for production, maintenance with equipment and machinery necessary for production and human resources for the required personnel and training trained in the different operations.
  • Manage the weekly production schedule in coordination with the planning department.
  • Optimize the flexibility of the company and production lines to cope with variations in customer demand.
  • Ensure strict application of company rules, procedures, processes and operating criteria.
  • Accept and collaborate in the implementation of the quality management system.
  • Monitor the optimization of operating systems and implement the self-inspection system.
  • Apply standards on production lines and reduce production changeover times by applying the SMED technique.
  • Monitor and evaluate working methods and the use of machinery and equipment.
  • Manage and implement health and safety systems in the workplace.
  • Advise and support production supervisors in solving problems.
  • Advice and support to process technicians in the resolution of molding problems.
  • Motivate staff with an emphasis on the creation of self-motivated groups.
  • Lead the implementation of management methodologies to improve production efficiency and quality (implementation of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance of all production personnel with the IATF 16949:2016 system.
  • Advise and monitor the implementation of industrial expansion and/or modernization projects.
  • Participate in continuous improvement groups.
  • Maintain evidence and report of the daily production meeting between all representatives of the different departments of the company.
  • Use IQMS in all areas (scheduling, real-time, shift reporting, PM module, etc.).
  • Meet quality metrics and targets.

  General Job Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with general management, set priorities according to customer requirements, taking care of service, quality and on-time delivery.
  • Ensure that information reaches all levels in the production area.
  • Maintain the quality levels of the product to the customer.
  • Obtain results from operational personnel by communicating work expectations and providing appropriate feedback to all employees.
  • Report production results in production summary by shift.
  • Prepare, advise and discipline operators.
  • Develop opportunities for staff growth.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, guiding personnel on the use of equipment and work areas.
  • Obtain and measure the efficiency of each activity performed: Scrap and Dead Time
  • Promote communication at any level.
  • Ensure and verify that all lines comply with the quality requirements established by the customer through the SELF-INSPECTION program.
  • Safety and quality walkthroughs every hour between lines of work.
  • Quality review tour every 2 hours on working lines.
  • Know, understand and apply the quality policy.
  • Establish and promote the quality indicators and objectives applicable to their department.
  • Contribute to the solution of problems related to their position.
  • Maintain and support the 5' S program.
  • Know and carry out quality management system, comply with the procedures and instructions established in accordance with the IATF 16949:2016 quality system.
