Title: Maintenance Engineer
Position Overview:
The Maintenance Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of equipment and systems across the manufacturing facility. This role involves hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of machinery and support equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine and emergency maintenance on custom printing presses, die-cutting machines, laminators, and other production equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
Plan and execute preventive maintenance (PM) schedules to ensure equipment reliability and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to identify and implement equipment and process improvements.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, equipment repairs, and parts inventory.
Support installation, commissioning, and calibration of new machinery and modifications to existing equipment.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety regulations, plant policies, and industry standards.
Train and guide maintenance technicians or operators on equipment handling and basic troubleshooting.
Coordinate with external vendors and service providers as needed for specialized repairs or maintenance projects.
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring equipment issues.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in print, packaging, or converting operations.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, PLCs, electrical circuits, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Hands-on experience with maintenance tools, diagnostic equipment, and safety protocols.
Familiarity with CMMS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or on-call support.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) principles.
