Solicita: Process Engineer / PFMEA Lead Coordinator / Expert


  • Descripción y Requisitos

    1. Job Summary: The PFMEA Moderator is responsible for leading and facilitating Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) sessions across cross-functional teams. This role ensures compliance with relevant standards (e.g., AIAG-VDA), drives effective risk identification and mitigation, and supports continuous improvement by integrating PFMEA outputs into process controls and planning

         II.         Primarily Job Responsibilities:

    1. Facilitate PFMEA Workshops: Lead structured PFMEA sessions with cross-functional teams, ensuring open participation and adherence to methodology.
    2. Guide Risk Analysis: Support the team in identifying potential failure modes, causes, and effects within manufacturing and assembly processes.
    3. Ensure Methodological Compliance: Apply industry standards such as AIAG-VDA PFMEA or company-specific procedures.
    4. Document PFMEA Outputs: Ensure accurate and clear documentation of failure modes, severity, occurrence, detection, RPN/AP values, and action plans.
    5. Coordinate Risk Mitigation: Work with process owners to define and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
    6. Train and Support Team Members: Provide PFMEA methodology training and coaching to stakeholders as needed.
    7. Continuous Improvement: Promote preventive quality planning and integrate PFMEA results into control plans and work instructions.
    8. Maintain PFMEA Database: Manage the update and revision of PFMEA documents to reflect process changes or lessons learned.

       III.         Competences required to perform the job (functional and interpersonal skills):

    1. Strong knowledge of FMEA principles and standards (especially AIAG-VDA)
    2. Familiarity with automotive, aerospace, or manufacturing quality systems (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, etc.)
    3. Proficiency in FMEA software tools (e.g., APIS IQ, PTC Windchill, Excel-based templates)
    4. Strong facilitation, communication, and leadership abilities
    5. Analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset
    6. Ability to manage group dynamics and mediate differing opinions

    Preferred Skills:

    a)     Certified FMEA Practitioner or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt

    b)     Experience with Control Plans and other APQP tools

    c)     Multilingual (if working in global teams

       IV.         Education:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or similar.
    2. English writing and spoken at least 85% 

     

         V.         Work Experience:

    1. 3+ years in the process engineering or quality environment (preferable automotive industry).
    2. 1 year of experience .in leading or facilitation PFMEAs

       VI.         Certifications / Training:

    1. Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
    2. PFMEA, Control Plan, Flow Chart.
    3. Statistical Tools

      VII.         One of the responsibilities of all employees is to contribute to the conservation of the environment (ISO 14001), through:

    Generally responsibility as an individual contributor:

    1. Report water or oil leaks in machines to the EHS department.
    2. Report the lack of environmental badges to the EHS department.
    3. Turn off equipment when they are not being used, includes offices if applicable.
    4. Dispose correctly without mixing of Hazardous and Non-hazardous waste (Cardboard, plastic, etc).
    5. Respect the quality rules at all times to reduce the generation of scrap.

    VIII.         Accountability and Authority of the position:

    1. Stop the assembly line when a safety and/or Quality issue is found.  
    2. Support production to meet production plan.
    3. Assists other team members when needed.
    4. Keeps stakeholders informed of progress, obstacles and changes to the work plan.
    5. Takes action to address safety concerns and mitigate risks.
