    Descripción y Requisitos
Design, Develop and Validate equipment, machinery and tooling to optimize Werner’s manufacturing operations as a reaction to Business Sustainability, NPI or Productivity requirements.

Performing research and analysis to identify the manufacturing facility's needs, liaising with vendors and suppliers to design and develop equipment and processes, managing budgets and timelines, assessing existing systems and methods to find areas needing improvement, and implementing solutions against problem areas. 

Engage and collaborate with teams assigned as part of any NPI, Productivity, Advanced Development or Business Sustainability Project as the SME for production processes.
Participates in all Design For Manufacturability (DFM) analysis when developing new products design.   Gathers information on all  manufacturing capabilities necessary to be included in Product Design and product Requirements
Participates in PFMEA analysis is used as tool for Manufacturing Process Design in every new process implemented.
Participates in several independent, cross-functional projects and improve manufacturing quality, reduce cost, 
Implementation of QC controls, such as error proofing, gaging, SPC, process and product inspections
Gathers and documents all inputs required for tool design and fabrication.  Validates effectivity at vendor’s floor and before SOP in Werner’s facility. Assures compliance to Werner’s standards for Safety, Quality and Delivery.
Identifies, develops and works with external tool and equipment suppliers.  Creates a partnership to assure that Werner’s needs can be fulfilled with the best reliance, speed and cost.
Researches and develops best in class production processes as well as new technologies applicable to Werner’s needs.
Follows procedures, generates equipment process instruction and any other documentation needed for proper tooling and equipment usage in regular production.
Develop financial evaluations of potential major capital investment projects and provide documentation of investment vs payback to company.  Uses equipment capacity utilization, process capabilities, labor cost, floor space, leadtimes to assess cost impact.
Document results in technical reports and presentations.
Utilize New Product Introduction tollgate process to ensure that new programs and upgrades are implemented effectively
Participates with Design COE to apply Value Engineering and TCA techniques on proposed design concepts early in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process
Responsible in the development, delivery, and installation in the plant of the required manufacturing equipment and systems for manual to highly automated assembly and test equipment.
Create documentation associated with tooling and equipment CAD and paper files, in addition maintain revision control of tooling / equipment drawings.
Validates the modifications, new designs and identification of improvements in the tooling of the assigned projects. 

Escolaridad: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, Industrial Engineering
Experiencia: 3 years experience as a Manufacturing Engineer

Conocimientos específicos:
  • Strong technical background in Fabrication Processes as well as Assembly methods.  Sheet Metal transformation, Pultrusion, Aluminum Extrusion.
  • GD&T principles
  • PLC and and PC-based control systems
  • Project Management
  • Proficient in Solid Works
  • CNC programming experience preferred.
