    Descripción y Requisitos

Specific Accountabilities:

Business Partner Support for Plant manager and Operations:

  • Work with the Plant Management Team to identify and recommend process improvements that will deliver financial benefits or mitigate financial risks
  • Mentor non-financial managers regarding the cost and recovery of expenses assuring they understand manufacturing key performance indicators and provide clear insight into drivers
  • Work with the plant to identify and validate continuous improvement opportunities, recommend actions to lower cost and improve margin
  • Overall responsibility for the plant operations financial results and delivery of accurate timely results in accordance with company processes/procedures and statutory regulations.
  • Proactively manage plant accounting functions to include oversight of accounting personnel, inventory, manufacturing cost accounting, reporting/analysis and forecasting/budgeting
  • Analyzes monthly expenditures incurred against plan and forecasts and provide recommendations on how to control or reduce spending
  • Monitors and report variances versus budget, propose alternatives to minimize variances impact.
  • Perform full function of management accounting for manufacturing, including cost accounting, analysis of manufacturing variances and OCOS, standard costing and inventory management
  • Works with Engineering and Production on BOM accuracy to ensure inventory valuation accuracy
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation for physical inventories
  • Participates in monthly review meetings with local management
  • Strives for high performance and uses technical skills effectively with a demonstrated emphasis to detail and accuracy. Ability to multi-task, and work in an organized, detailed manner under limited time frames & tight deadlines.

Financial Reporting and Controls/Compliance:

  • Supervise the month-end close and ensure that the business’s financial performance is reported in a timely and accurate manner
  • Strong general ledger experience and review of monthly P&L trends to identify completeness and accuracy of financial statements
  • Provide financial guidance and support to plant management with proactive communication of accounting/reporting issues and recommendations
  • Provide support for external and internal audits
  • Provide guidance to plant management in the origination of capital expenditure requests ensuring compliance to policy and robust accurate projections of costs and savings generated by the project.
  • Protect plant assets through the development and monitoring of internal controls
  • Responsible for maintaining and developing reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts.
  • Provide cross-functional support and lead initiatives/projects to ensure financial goals are met.

Skills and Competencies:

  • IT Literate (Microsoft Office)
  • ERP System experience (SAP, MFG Pro)
  • High level of accountability. A self-starter with strong initiative and the ability to work independently. Strong customer service orientation.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
  • Knowledge of financial accounting systems, controls and compliance procedures and industry practices
  • Strong Business Ethics Commitment
  • Active involvement in cost savings development

Education and Experience:

  • Bi-Lingual Spanish & English
  • B.S. / B.A. degree in Accounting.
  • Manufacturing/costing experience
  • Staff management experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to operate and consistently deliver in a changing environment
  • Minimum of 2-5 years at plant/manufacturing controller level
