I. Job Summary:
Responsible for the Follow up of new programs introductions and continuous improvement initiatives for the production plant and Tech Center. Leader to assure that all APQP related activities are fulfilled for all new programs from Phase 0 up to 6 months after production. Key function is to identify newer initiatives in the automotive industry that can be adopted and adapted to Nidec DNA.

II. Primarily Job Responsibilities 


1. Management Representative of the New Projects and Continuous Improvements. 
1.1. Monitor key quality indicators for the organization, measure effectiveness of the system and develop improvement programs within the area of New programs and Plant Quality continuous improvement initiatives

2. Chairman, Product Validation Committee (PVC) Product Validation Committee 
2.1. Assure Project Phase Reviews are meet in terms of quality and content based on PM schedule.
2.2. Monitor strict attachment to NIDEC APQP procedure.
2.3. Deliver PPAP on time for the designated new projects.
2.4. Conduct regular reviews with Project team to monitor development of Product design, Process design and participate on the approval for new components.
2.5. Monitor and assure successful PV and discuss results with customer as necessary.

2.6. Responsible to maintain customer portals updated.
2.7. Lead Quality Engineers on principles for NPI and coach NPI team members toward world class standards.

3. Develop, coordinate and execute the Site Quality Improvement Plan in relation to New Projects and Continuous Improvement area.

4. Effectively communicate major quality issues throughout organization
4.1. Develop and submit monthly and weekly reports on a timely basis
4.2. Active participation on PMO meetings 

5. Become the leader for all customer visits related to new projects.
5.1. Elaborate minute reports.
5.2. Assure submission of action plans for visits.
5.3. Develop in conjunction with PM customer agenda and assure deliverable are meet.

6. The Responsibility related to the Quality continues improvements.
6.1. Constant audit to new process to pursue Zero risks for quality spills.
6.2. Develop strategies to eliminate quality spills.
6.3. Coordinate in conjunction with QA mgr initiatives to improve Plant Quality Performance.  
6.4. Detect weakness on Quality NPI area and develop plans to close the gap and extend to plant level.
6.5. Evaluate Quality system and develop strategies to improve to a world class level.


7. The Responsibility related to safety.
7.1. Assure all assigned personal follows Safety rules.
7.2. Promote Safety behaviors on all NPI team members.
7.3. Extend this behavior beyond his boundary limits.

8. The Responsibility related for environmental.
8.1. Be in line with the environmental policy, as well as the environmental issues, objectives and goals that are directly involved to the position. 
8.2. Active participation in environmental improvement projects

III. Competences required to perform the job (functional and interpersonal skills):
a. Able to work and a high standard environment.
b. Highly knowledgeable on APQP, QOS, AIAG, ISO TS 16949, VDA 6.3, Quality tools.
c. Results oriented, excellent communication skills, team player.
d. Customer oriented, internal and external.
e. Bilingual Spanish-English

IV. Education:
a. Engineering degree.

V. Work Experience: 
a. 10 to 15 years of progressive responsibility experience in quality/manufacturing/design environment.  
b. 5 years’ experience in supervisory/leadership role.
c. Understanding Automotive Quality System Standards, quality tools and strong leadership skills.
d. Five year experience on APQP minimum.
VI. Certifications / Training:
a. PM-APQP
b. VDA
c. ISO/TS16949
VII. Accountability and Authority of the position:
a. Authority to stop the line when the requirement for the product or sub assembly is not met.  Authority to return material from the warehouse for inspection when is determined that the parts do not comply with the minimum specifications required by the customer or internal procedures.
