Business Manager Job Duties:

  • Accomplishes customer service human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Supervises or is plant liaison to HQ on plant admin functions including, Customer Service, IT, HR, Accounting and billing. This position will directly supervise 5-6 people directly, including estimators, customer service reps, CAD table operators and packaging designers.
  • Achieves customer service objectives by contributing customer service information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying customer service trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
  • Works hand in hand with Plant Production Manager to create a cohesive and consistent plant environment. Is co-leader and go to individual on the Admin side. Plant Production Manager is counterpart for all direct labor and warehouse personnel.
  • Meets customer service financial objectives by forecasting requirements; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Determines customer service requirements by maintaining contact with customers; visiting operational environments; conducting surveys; forming focus groups; benchmarking best practices; analyzing information and applications.
  • Improves customer service quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; establishing and communicating service metrics; monitoring and analyzing results; implementing changes.
  • Maximizes customer operational performance by providing resources and resolving problems.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Key Driver in Operating System implementation and maintenance. Should be very comfortable with technology


Business Manager Skills and Qualifications:

Must have the following skills; Customer Service, Process Improvement, Decision Making, Managing Processes, Staffing, Planning, Tracking Expenses, Analyzing Information, Staff Performance Management, Developing Standards, Emphasizing Excellence

Technologically savvy. Needs to have had a key role in an operating system implementation

Leadership abilities. This position will be a co-leader in the facility along with the Production Manager. Must be a strong, steady, cohesive, presence

Packaging Experience in a corrugated converting facility highly desirable.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business

10 years’ experience in a similar role highly desirable
