Job Summary

Leads human resource, material and equipment of the department, as well as coordinates general activities and verifies compliance to applicable procedures and practices to assure compliance to quality system and safety, as well as to department and company goals.

Duties & responsibilities

Under limited supervision and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Maintains and ensures compliance with the quality system.
  • Handles human and material resources of the department.
  • Chairing the technical execution of Facilities projects, communicating with internal and external partners. Handling the facilities project portfolio and assigning tasks according to the projected scopes to include: quality compliance and improvement, cost reduction, cycle time reduction, capacity increase, Asset replacement plan.
  • Generates, reviews, and maintains departmental procedures.
  • Receives and approves the opening and closing of rejections of components generated by receiving inspection or production, as well as follow-up with supplier quality engineers.
  • Coordinates the creation, approval and closure of corrective actions.
  • Develops, leads and executes the audit plan for departmental procedures to monitor compliance.
  • Reviews and approves the CO’s / ECO’s generated for production components in ADAPTIV / cPDM.
  • Receives and ensures that service requirements are processed.
  • Participates in the analysis and monitoring of customer complaints related to components.
  • Certifies the technicians and the group leader in the departmental procedures.
  • Coordinates the training of new entry inspection personnel.
  • Serves administrative matters of technicians and group leaders.
  • Follows the company’s regulations whether local, state and / or federal, as well as the procedures and policies of Safety and Hygiene, Health and Environment.
  • Promotes the system of continuous improvement through employee suggestions.
  • Promotes and develops Kaizen activities and / or savings projects.
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
  • For those who supervise or run a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs other assigned tasks as necessary.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Engineering in any specialty.
  • Master’s degree in science is recommended.
  • More than 5 years of experience in supervisory positions and direct personnel management.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in receiving inspection or similar position.
  • Minimum experience of 2 years in the medical industry.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS

  • Knowledge and skill in JDE.
  • Knowledge of corrective action systems.
  • Knowledge of QSR / ISO 9000.
  • Knowledge and use of inspection and test equipment through the application of metrology.
  • Knowledge and interpretation of drawings and geometric tolerances.
  • Knowledge and management of computer and statistical packages.
  • Knowledge in the development of the effective procedures.
  • Knowledge and management of the English language in 80%.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR OTHERS & INTERNAL INTERACTIONS

  • This position can report to the Quality Operations Manager and has the responsibility of supervising the Receiving Inspection Coordinators, Receiving Inspection Technicians and / or Head of Receiving Inspection Group.
  • Maintains the necessary interaction with internal people to meet the needs, goals and objectives of the business.
